the view, the view from the mountain
stretchesas far as the eye can see
i live, up high on the mountains
so i, can see you
you live, live in the low lands
far away, from prying eyes
my gaze, turns to you from the mountains
my love, where have you gone
it is time, to come down the mountain
come in search, in search of my love
the wind, howlw cold down the mountain
this journey, fraught will be
you don't wait, at the bottom of the mountain
you have waited before, for far too long
i'm coming for you, coming down the mountain
a journey, unrequited
you're not there, when i decend the mountain
and you haven't been, in quite a while
my life, at the top of the mountain
solitude, made sense at the time
you are lost to me, from the top of the mountain
i didn't know it though, at the time
the view, the view from the mountain
stretches as far, as the eye can see
i live, up high on the mountain
but i, still can't see you
